The Club of the Year award was introduced in 2012 to recognise club's who have good off-field administration. The Pittsworth Power were the inaugural winners, finishing narrowly ahead of the Stingers.
Now, the Stingers have gone one better, streeting the field to record a comfortable win, ahead of the Highfields Lions and Warwick Redbacks.
The Stingers were the only club across the region to tick off a number of itesm including:
- Implementing a risk management policy
- Being Silver level accredited in the AFL Quality Club Program
- Appointing a Volunteer Coordinator
- Completing the AFL Darling Downs Clubs Alive Program
- Promoting all themed rounds, including AFL Kids First
Getting the off-field administration right has helped the Stingers rebound on-field too, recording a 79% increase in junior player numbers.
Congratulations to all involved in the Stingers.
