AFL Darling Downs crowned their inaugural Heather Green Medallist, which goes to the Women's League Fairest and Best player adjudged by the Umpires in a 3-2-1 voting system. The very first result will go down in history as a tie, two of the very best female footballers coming through.
South Toowoomba players Georgie Seaniger and Danielle Wall were crowned the inaugural Heather Green Medallists in front of a sell-out crowd at Rumours International. In the modified round robin competition, the result was always going to be tight with Seaniger and Wall finishing on 9-votes.
Danielle Wall was shocked upon receiving the Medal and rated as one of her highest individual accolades to date.
"I don't know what to say, I am lost for words," Wall said quietly.
"Yip, the medal is definitely one of my best awards, ever," Wall added.
Seaniger and Wall finished 4-votes clear of the four-way tie for Runner-Up, as South Toowoomba players Savannah Ranford, Jessica Harvey, Isabelle Baldock and Warwick's Cassie Cullen finished on 5-votes.
