Coach of the Toowoomba East Stingers Under 12s side, Jeremy Sheldrick, has won the 2013 AFL Darling Downs Youth Coach of the Year award, announced at Saturday night's Volunteer Recognition Night.
Jeremy won the State Junior Coach of the Year award last year for his work with the Stingers Under 10s, but this year has stepped up to the competitive age groups. In their first three games of the season the team did not score, yet managed to record 4 wins for the season.
The way Jeremy is able to inspire his children and develop a positive ethos in everything he does is ultimately what sets him apart from the other nominees in this category.
Jeremy also involves himself in other activities of the club, sitting as Vice President, running for the Toowoomba Tigers and being a key driver behind their amalgamation into what is now known as the Toowoomba AFC.
Jeremy has now been nominated as the regional winner for the State Youth Coach of the Year award to be announced in November.
