Coach of the Pittsworth Power Under 10s side, Justine Fritsch, has won the 2013 AFL Darling Downs Female Coach of the Year award, announced at Saturday night's Volunteer Recognition Night.
Justine lives in Toowoomba, but still heads out to Pittsworth twice a week to take training for her young charges. She places a big focus on respecting umpires and the opposition and ensures these rules are strictly adhered to by all players.
Despite never playing herself, Justine has balanced the tricky role of dealing with 9 year olds who are new to tackling and still require lots of skill development. Justine also took fitness based training sessions for players in all age groups at the Power in 2013.
Justine also takes on a committee role as club Registrar and club delegate because she just wants to see the Pittsworth football club succeed.
Justine has now been nominated as the regional winner for the State Female Coach of the Year award to be announced in November.
