Manly-Warringah captain, Tyrone Armitage has capped off a stellar season by being named the Best and Fairest player in the Premier Division competition.
The star left-footed on-baller and small forward claimed a thrilling vote count by the smallest of margins from North Shore midfielder, Sam Carruthers.
A Best on Ground performance that saw Armitage kick three last quarter goals against North Shore in the final round at Weldon Oval had him finish one vote ahead of Carruthers.
It was an amazing feat for Armitage considering last year he was spearheading Manly-Warringah in the Division One competition.
As Captain in 2012, Tyrone led the Division One side to an undefeated premiership (whilst finishing runner up B&F and Top 10 in the Snow Medal).
Armitage was also named this year in the Senior Representative squad and in the AFL Sydney Team of the Year. He played Swans Reserves in 2009 and trained with Geelong in early 2010.
Tyrone has a number of awards across his budding career in Sydney winning the Wolves Under 18's Best & Fairest, AFL Sydney League Best & Fairest and leading goal kicker in 2007, club Best & Fairest and Snow Medal in 2009 and runner up club Best & Fairest in 2012.
Armitage brought up 100 senior games this season and has kicked over 200 goals in his career.
