A Grade – Ouyen United 34 def Hopetoun 22
A frantic start with Ouyen getting on the board early by playing a strong defensive quarter. Ouyen repelled many of Hopetoun’s forays forward. While tight all over the court, Ouyen managed to gain the ascendancy. Ouyen lead by 2 going into the 2nd Quarter. With light drizzle, the pace slowed a little but determination was high. Hopetoun opened up the court more and made the most of opportunities. An injury riddled quarter saw many desperate efforts as the play see-sawed. Ouyen lead at half time by 3. Brilliant goaling by Ouyen gave them a break and Hopetoun worked hard to keep in touch. Changes made though injury altered the dynamics but Ouyen adjusted. Ouyen crept forward by 6 at 3 quarter time. More great goaling by Ouyen’s Ellie Morrish set the quarters standard. Some high quality play whetted the appetite for the rest of the finals series as players continued with a great display of netball. Ouyen stole the game and won 34 to Hopetoun’s 22

B Grade – Hopetoun 51 def Walpeup Underbool 41
Hopetoun started the game with the first break. They both worked hard to break the opposition’s centre and played strong throughout the mid court. Both side’s goalies were accurate, making it hard for the defences to get the rebound. Hopetoun took the lead by 1 at Quarter time. Hopetoun started the 2nd Quarter with again with the first break and remained strong for the first half of the quarter however Walpeup Underbool remained determined for a break. Hopetoun Goal Shooters scored well under pressure making it hard for Walpeup Underbool defences. Hopetoun’s lead increased to 8 ahead at half time. Walpeup Underbool made a defensive change and started the 3rd Quarter determined to narrow Hopetoun’s lead. A well thought out change which kept Walpeup Underbool in the game only trailing by 5 at 3 Quarter Time. The start of the final quarter saw both sides determined for the opportunity to progress to the preliminary final. Hopetoun were to strong in the last quarter taking the match 51 to Walpeup Underbool’s 41.

C Grade – Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers 48 def Ouyen United 29
The game started slow with both teams showing nerves and making it hard to score. Ouyen settled first with Bobbie Murphy never missing a goal as goal shooter. At Quarter time the score was close with Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers taking the lead by 1. Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers started the 2nd quarter strong and showed great passages of play through the mid court. Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers goal shooters were very accurate with their shooting which showed on the scoreboard at half time. Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers lead by 5 at the change. Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers outscored Ouyen 17 to 5 in the 3rd Quarter as they took control of the game with their accurate shooting and great passages of play throughout the court. In the 4th Quarter Ouyen made changes in an attempt to lift the team. Numerous turnovers by both sides helped Ouyen to get closer to Sea Lake Nandaly’s score but to no avail as Sea Lake Nandaly steamed ahead to win the game 48 to Ouyen’s 29.

Jnr A – Jeparit Rainbow 33 def Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers 24
The game started as a closely contested match with both sides intercepting the ball at both ends of the court. Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers took an early lead heading into the 2nd Quarter 3 Up. A great defensive beginning by Jeparit Rainbow in the 2nd Quarter but still to no avail as once again Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers held strong and crept forward by 4 point at half time. Jeparit Rainbow came out fighting and were very strong all over the court taking the lead going into the 3rd quarter 22 to 21. Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers struggled to keep the momentum flowing as Jeparit Rainbow kept their cool and controlled the ball well and causing many turnovers leading to a 9 point win.

Jnr B – Ouyen United 35 def Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers 27
Both teams were unsettled for the first few minutes due to nerves but they quickly settled down and the quarter remained even throughout. Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers took the lead by 3 at the first change. Ouyen had a change in momentum and gained a slight lead throughout the quarter. Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers fought hard but Ouyen held the lead at half time by 1. The 3rd Quarter was again an even contest with both sides working hard down the court to turn the ball over. Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers struggled to keep up to Ouyen’s consistency and at 3 Quarter time Ouyen lead by 2. Ouyen took off in the last quarter and played great netball all the way down the court. Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers fought hard but couldn’t overcome the dominance of the Ouyen Side. With Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers only scoring 3 in the last Quarter Ouyen won by 8 points.
