The Round 17 AFL Sydney Rising Star nominee is Lachlan Hayres of North Shore.
Lachlan Hayres is showing maturity beyond his young age, as he plays his role for team each week. After breaking his leg in last years U16 carnival and therefore missing most of last season, he has worked extremely hard throughout his rehabilitation, to a point where he was able to participate in the pre-season with the Premier Division squad and start looking forward to playing football again.
"Lachy has come into the Premier Division team from Round 1 and really added value with his good skills and courage at the contest. We've been really happy for Lachy, to see him out there consistently contributing and enjoying his football, which is a good reward for the all the time and effort he put into getting himself right to play again," Football Operations Manager Damian Whittle said.
"We know when he gets the football that he will make the right decision and use it well, which is something that he has been working hard on at training" Whittle continued.
"With a good attitude to training and recovery, we know Lachy is going to continue to learn and improve, to have a good future in front of him".
