The Round 15 AFL Sydney Rising Star nominee is Alex Foote of UNSW/ES.
Alex has overcome the disappointment of breaking his foot in the second game of Premier Division and then watching his team mates go on and win the premiership in 2012.
Having played all games this season he now has the belief to be able to play at Premier Division level and has impressed coach Rhys Mcalister;
"Alex’s strong running both forward and particularly in defence where his pressure acts results in turnovers for the team and resultant shots on goal have been significant in all games this season".
Although slight in stature Alex is always hard at the contest and often giving away size to his opponents, provides the team with quick leg speed in carrying the ball into and setting up our forwards for shots on goal, Alex is often found at the bottom of packs as he fights to get the ball forward to the teams advantage.
"Alex’s together with a few of his other young teammates really have ownership of how our 2013 season pans out and are the future of our club for many seasons to come".
