This weeks McDonald's Mini Legend Award went to Malachi Hallas from the University Cougars. Probably for the first time in many players careers, there were more than 44 players arriving at the match, meaning a couple of players could not take the field. Despite playing an undefeated side, Malachi surrendered his spot in the side and volunteered to run water.
Malachi has been playing for 6 years and said his most memorable moment in footy was playing in the Under 12 Grand Final last season. He is an avid Lions supporter and his favourite player is co-captain Jonathan Brown.
Over the remaining 3 rounds of the AFLDDJ season, AFL Queensland staff will be recognising players who display the best acts of sportsmanship along with mateship and inclusion both on and off the field.
Players will be recognised in front of their peers at the conclusion of matches by AFL Queensland staff and be rewarded with a certificate from the Junior major sponsor McDonald's Toowoomba Region Restaraunts.
Look out for Webby, Jeffro or Davo, who could be at your ground this weekend awarding the McDonald's Mini Legend Award to you!
