AFL NSW/ACT U18 Ram, Lloyd Perris, was yesterday awarded with one of the highest honours in the AFL AIS Academy.
Announced at the Level 2, 16th outduction luncheon held at Etihad Stadium, Rams captain Lloyd Perris was awarded with the Ben Mitchell Medal.
The medal is named in honour of former Academy graduate Ben Mitchell, who was killed in a car accident in 2002.
The Ben Mitchell Medal is a peer award, voted on by the 30-strong squad and the highest honour given by the academy.
Personal qualities such as courage, determination, passion, professionalism and discipline form part of the criteria for the award, which was presented to 18-year-old Perris at the Academy function today.
Perris has had an exceptional two years while being in the AFL AIS Academy receiving the Level 1 Cameron Ling medal last year voted on again by his peers.
The St George junior and Swans Academy member is now preparing himself for Round five of the NAB AFL U18 National Championships when the NSW/ACT Rams take on Tasmania on Thursday at 1.15pm at Victoria Park, Melbourne to conclude the week-long carnival.
