Goulburn North East Football Association's expansion is set to continue under new secretary Megan Carr, who succeeded Sam Saracino in the role.
Carr, a former player in the league, takes on the job after Saracino served three years.
Saracino will continue on the association board with roles in a country championships sub-committee, media relations, maintenance and sponsorship as well as refereeing matches on weekends.
The manager of Tatura and Shepparton Racing Club stepped away from the secretary's post to devote more time to family and work.
Carr played at state league level in NSW before relocating to Shepparton. The 32-year-old retired last year after completing a hat-trick of Goulburn North East association women's premierships with Shepparton United.
Carr went onto the association board this year and has already started acting as secretary by arranging and holding meetings with the league's club delegates alongside vicepresident Vince Sagoleo.
Association initiatives likely to become agenda items before the start of next season include:
Utilising venues and timeslots on the fixture to have more match times than only Sunday afternoon.
Launch a new league website with new competition logo.
Investigate options for Benalla to field a men's division one team, while also maintaining Kialla United's involvement in the competition.
Continue supporting clubs that have only recently established men's division one teams, such as Numurkah which has already committed to next year.
Work with Kyabram toward supporting a men's division one team at the club at some stage in the future.
Consulting prospective members of the league, such as existing club MoamaEchuca and also a working group seeking to establish a club in Yarrawonga-Mulwala.
"I've got an administrative background which will help me in this role," Carr said.
"We're looking to revamp the website with a new logo.
"It would be good to see night games through the season, which grounds can host them will play a role in how many are possible."
Saracino said his three years had been hands-on with the growth of the competition, including the addition of a new division in the junior girls.
"One thing that can't be underestimated is the new documents the league is governed by, the constitution, rules and regulations means everyone is now on the same page," Saracino said.
