The Army AFL Sydney Womens Round 9 Rising Star nominee is Megan Vella from the Penrith Ramettes.
Megan is in her first season of AFL football having come across from soccer. She has picked up the skills of playing AFL very quickly to the point where she is becoming a leader in our backline. She has become a fearless defender and not one to shirk a contest.
Megan, 20, is loving her time with the Ramettes and will be an intricate part of the team for a very long time. Megan shows enormous amounts of guts and determination in trying to win the football for her team. She is tenacious and never gives up, all while keeping a smile on her face.
