2. SEVA 2013
I’m delighted to advise that Dartford were victors in both the Mens and Ladies competitions so a fantastic result for them both, and for KCVA. Results not yet showing on the SEVA website, so here is what Katie remembers from the day, for the Ladies Competition:
In the pool matches, they beat Worthing, lost to Oxford and then came back to win against Richmond. Having finished second in their Pool, they moved on to the semi-final, where they won against Dolphins. The final saw Dartford again come up against Oxford, but this time they ran out winners by 2 sets to 1.
In the Mens competition on the Sunday, Dartford won all their Pool matches, and then won their semi-final 2-0. I don’t know who their opponents were in the final, but Dartford edged it by 15-13 in the 3rd and deciding set.
A bit of bad luck for CCVC, who won 3 of their 4 pool matches, but missed out on a semi-final slot by just 4 points – grrrrrrrrrr. Better luck next year, guys (assuming you qualify, of course – there will be a few teams chasing you in the Kent league this season!).
3. Schools League 2012-13
The final mini-tournament of the season was held at Beths school on 12th June, and Katie managed to get all the fixtures completed with the teams who could make it on the day. Final standings were as follows:

Congratulations to the winners, and commiserations to the runners-up.
Next season’s schools league will be kicking off around the same time as the Kent League, and it looks at this stage as if we will have another school looking to host mini-tournaments in addition to Beths. So hopefully the League will grow a little, and keep on growing.
4. Bexley and Bromley
I picked out a couple of nuggets from Jody’s recent Bexley VC Newsletter, which are worthy of mention here:
- “The Bromley Girls team played extremely well, with over half of the girls playing in their first ever tournament, and they finished 15th out of the 33 London Boroughs.
- The Bexley Boys team played brilliantly in a competition where the standards have continued to increase every year. Unfortunately serving consistency let them down a tad, but they still finished a very pleasing 11th overall.
- The Bexley Girls team have made the finals again. They played some wonderful volleyball and didn't drop a set in their qualifying round. They now travel to Crystal Palace for the finals on Saturday 6th July 2013. Their start time is 9.15am. So if you are around do come and support them, they are guaranteed a medal, it’s the colour that is to be decided.”
Well done to all 3 teams, and Good Luck to Bexley Girls at Crystal Palace on 6th July.
More news, soon………….
