Drouin Unveiled its rebuilt Senior pitch after a long wait, with games against Phillip Island U16s and Morwell Pegasus Seniors this week. Despite huge rains in the last couple of weeks the ground was in amazing condition with players stating it was very firm and a great surface to play on, meaning the new drainage has worked a treat. The Club has had to wait for the grasses to take properly due to the sites shading and difficult soil conditions but has been worth the wait.

The Club financed the drainage and resurfacing project through fundraising, sponsorship and thousands of Club members man hours, and has just completed drainage into its junior pitch as well.

We have had to do it all ourselves with little help other than amazing local support from local companies and individuals. The Club has had to use neighbouring hockey fields and would like to thank the local Hockey organisations for their support. We soon hope to have four fully operational pitches and hope to make them of impeccable standard. With this it will be a fantastic asset for the region.
