The SFL are excited to announce that it will be facilitating a Leadership Mentoring Program which has been developed to provide valuable leadership and communication knowledge and skills. Additionally, providing an opportunity to experience what it is like to be a leader within a mainstream sporting club for people with and without a disability.
The program has been designed to train and equip participants with the basics of leadership, communication and other skills over seven separate training sessions. These sessions will involve group work/discussions and presentations by a variety of speakers who have expertise in their chosen fields. There are no academic prerequisites for entry into the program although priority will be given to applicants who live/work or volunteer in the SFL area.

The expected outcomes of the program are as follows:
- To provide leadership mentoring to club members and potential community club members.
- To promote fully inclusive practices within a community sporting club environment by engaging members and potential members to develop/improve their leadership potential.
The intended outcomes for mentees (participants) of the program are:
- To become future leaders within a sporting club and the broader community.
- To enable people with a disability to participate in meaningful volunteering roles within a mainstream sporting club.
- To make possible to participants the opportunity to be mentored by larger organisations to further enhance their involvement and expertise as leaders within the sports industry.
