Meredith Gray will be playing her 150th game of women’s AFL this Saturday. A milestone reached by only a couple of other women ever in NSW/ACT.
It is an even more remarkable achievement because all of those games have been for the one club - Sydney University Women’s AFL Club (SUWAFLC).
See below for a club tribute:
Mere was a founding member of SUWAFLC and the Sydney Women’s AFL competition which commenced in 2000.
Mere has made significant contributions to the Club since that time, on and off the field.
A true champion of the women’s game, Mere has previously played representative football for NSW and continues her on field brilliance in 2013.
In attack or defence, Mere continues to bemuse her opposition taking fantastic marks, playing clever football and using her long range kick for effective disposals or to score goals.
Off the field, Mere’s commitment to the Club and her team mates has been unwavering in the 13 years of her affiliation with the Club and her loyalty and dedication is second to none. Mere is forever passing on knowledge of the game, helping out, educating the Club’s rookies, and sharing the blue and gold spirit. Bravo Mere!
Everyone is welcome to come down and support Mere this weekend:
