The Army AFL Sydney Womens Round 6 Rising Star nominee is Antoinette Moliterno from the UTS Shamrocks.
Antoinette was introduced to AFL in High school where she played in an Inter School (all girls) competition. She loved playing and was hoping to find something similar at Uni to keep her fit & active. She started studying a Bachelor of Business at UTS and found the UTS Shamrocks at O-Week. At 18 years of age she joins the team as the youngest of our Shamrock family.
Antoinette, or Nettie as she is commonly known by her team mates, has a smile on her face & has improved in leaps & bounds over the past 6 rounds. She was excited to find the Shamrocks but felt she was way out of her depth & it was nothing like what she used to play at school. Nettie has put in the effort both at training & on game day to improve her skills & become an asset to our team. She is a quiet achiever on & off the field, however this played to her advantage recently where she scored not only her first AFL goal but scored her second in that game as well. Nettie’s work was recognised by her team mates & received multiple points for best on ground.
Nettie’s family have been very supportive attending her games and I’m sure they are proud of her achievements so far. We look forward to seeing Nettie continue to develop her skills over the coming weeks!
