Our Lady of Lourdes have proven too strong for Withcott State School and Peace Lutheran in the 2013 Brisbane Lions Cup girls division, as the girls from OLOL won in impressive fashion on debut.
Right from the first bounce to the final siren in the Grand-Final, the girls from OLOL played a hard running and punishing style of footy.
In the first game of the day reigning champions Withcott State School came up against new-comers Our Lady of Lourdes. The OLOL girls were switched on from the start as MacIntosh, Peters and Hooper lead the way for the debutants.
Our Lady of Lourdes ran out 10.8 (68) to 0.0 (0) winners.
Peace Lutheran also playing in their first Australian Rules carnival came up against OLOL and the girls from Toowoomba didn't hold back. OLOL won by 96 points once again as MacIntosh and Peters lead the way while Ferguson was prolific off half-back.

The last round robin match of the day saw Withcott State School play Peace Lutheran and it was an enthralling match. Withcott were wayward in front of the big sticks kicking 2.6 for the game and one of the majors coming in the last minute of the game. Peace Lutheran was right in the match up until the last minute of play. Brettel and Gaddes were outstanding for Withcott, while Hawk from Peace Lutheran was fantastic in the midfield.

The 2013 Grand-Final was one way as Our Lady of Lourdes powered past Withcott State School and booked their place in the State Semi-Finals at Leyshon Park in a couple of weeks. Best of luck to the Our Lady of Lourdes girls in Brisbane.
