Campbell Aston and Sam Tasker have lead the way for Toowoomba Grammar and have shown true Ting Tong Tiger (Ting Tong is the school mascot) spirit in a nail biting day of Primary school footy at the Captain Cook Ovals.
The final result of the overall champion came down to a percentage count back as three of Toowoomba's powerhouse schools tied on the same wins and losses. There were mixed results as new-comers Our Lady of Lourdes knocked off St Mary's College, while Toowoomba Grammar showed cross-town rivals OLOL a thing or two and in the final game St Mary's got up in a nail biting one point victory.
In the end it was Toowoomba Grammar's superior percentage which saw them crowned the 2013 Brisbane Lions Cup boys Champions finishing on a superior 1000% after the points kick for and against was calculated.
St Mary's weren't far behind finishing on 614.2% and Our Lady of Lourdes with a very high 238% after the days games.
Crow's Nest continued to impress at DD carnivals with a respectable fourth place finish with Withcott State School (5th) and debutants Peace Lutheran (6th) not far behind.
The runners-up St Mary's College didn't leave empty handed though as prolific on-baller Jordan Lipp took out the carnivals Most Valuable Player award by 1 vote over Campbell Aston of Toowoomba Grammar.
Congratulations to Toowoomba Grammar who will now advance down to the 2013 Brisbane Lions Cup Semi-Finals in a couple of weeks at Leyshon Park in Brisbane.
