A big thank you to Eastern Eyre and also Kimba Districts hosting the weekends inter league matches. Wonderfully organised and catered for, grounds and courts in great condition, and a large crowd.
Three grades were played, Under 15s, Under 17s and A Grade, all leading up to their respective competitions, the Port Adelaide Cup, Kinlough Cup and Mortlock Shield.
This completes the Tri series, with each of the competing leagues now having hosted a game day. From a Mid West perspective, we have been very pleased with the standard the competition provides, and the half games mirror the challenges coming up for coaches at future inter league fixtures up to the State Country Championships.
It isnt intended to present team winners in the football, however our Netball folk had awarded an overall trophy for the day, which was well received. A ladder is attached showing how a similar trophy/cup may look in the football. Something to consider in future!
The whole May inter league concept is now up for review, bearing in mind that Port Lincoln and Great Flinders have indicated that they support ongoing inter league competitions in May. We would seek everyone involved or with an interest in the interleague concept to advise your thoughts on future competition to your football/ netball delegates. This will ensure we get the best outcome for future May game competitions.
A big thank you to all involved in Mid West, coaches, players, trainers, team managers, officials and supporters. Good luck for upcoming interleague fixtures.
