Two Blokes on a Bike have arrived in St. Louis, Missouri. To date we’ve covered approximately 3,000km and the quads are feeling every kilometre.
Some days are harder than others, as we have faced some horrific weather, from snowstorms with blistering winds to extreme heat in the desert. The only reason we have made it this far is due to support.
The amount of American’s asking if we are okay makes me believe in the human race, people do care. As we sit on the side of old route 66 changing a flat tyre, having a snack or simply just enjoying a view, cars often pull over and offer their support.
The support isn’t just in America, of course from friends and family but also from people who have never met us, they send kind messages and tell us about their stories, how they have suffered from depression but are now fighting back. It’s inspiring and helps us get out the last few kilometres of the day when the legs aren’t willing.
The Manly Football Club has been amazing, from the players to the president, everyone’s supporting us and speaking publicly about our journey is truly touching. It’s great to know they are so proud of what we are doing and makes us miss the club even more each day. When we wake up hearing such positive results from the boys, we can’t be any prouder to call Weldon home too.
We are preaching as we pedal, not for religion, not for Australian Rules Football, although at times it might seem that way... but to be there for your mate, ask if they are okay because it could make all the difference.
