The Round 5 AFL Sydney Rising Star nominee is Jake Monk of North Shore.
Jake played his first Premier Division game for the season in Round 5 and by the end of the day he had been named best on ground and kicked 4 goals.
Jake is one of North Shores Under 18 captains and last season won the clubs best and fairest in the U18's. Jake had an injury interrupted preseason this year so the club is just starting to see him reach match fitness levels.
Coach Jon Hayres commented that "Jake’s is a quick learner and his performance reflects his work ethic. Every night before and after training you will see Jake doing extra’s".
Hayres said "Jake’s great strength is his exceptional leg speed and we saw how he used that on the weekend to execute a number of effective tackles".
