Central Eyre v Elliston
So often this clash of these two can be confused with an earthquake. No other match up draws more red and yellow cards as these two strong clubs go head to head. The Bulldogs have carried all before them this year, 3 and zero to date, in fact they havent been halted since, well, last time that they played Elliston!
Combatants in last years Preliminary final, which saw the Roosters win and go on to take the premiership. For the Bulldogs,a chance to avenge at least some of those bitter memories?
The Bulldogs have improved from an already classy outfit, with the key inclusions of Jared Sampson, Ty McKenna and Nathan Creaser in 2013. Jake Bruce's form is outstanding, Clint Winter back to his best after his knee problems of two years ago, Tyler Chapman mercurial as always and able to play anywhere, the Sampsons Kane and Ryan, strong agile and imposing.
Elliston will be without Tom Rumbelow, who is having a hand operation. Adam Haarsma has been a boom recruit this season, deceptively quick for such a strong build. Adam Hurrell now joined by brother Ben returning from out at sea duties, Jake Matthews back in and the Roosters are building to a formidable unit once again.
Traditionally the Red and White boys just do not like Kyancutta Oval, and their history here is not flattering at all. Whilst Elliston are improving, just hard to see the Bulldogs dropping this one
Note: Look out for Centrals star and flambyant boundary umpire Rob Bruce, now fully recovered from a nasty tumble whilst at Warramboo last year, tripping over a "Wombat Hole"as he puts it. A search for the hazard was undertaken, but unsuccessful. Maybe a young fella could show him how to tie his shoelaces???????.
