Preview:
Balmain after their second consecutive Grand Final finish took a big hit early in the off-season when news filtered through playing captain and marquee signing, Craig White would be moving back to WA.
Further hits have been suffered since then with Taggart and Wilkie moving to Sydney University. It doesn’t appear to date they have covered these big losses given White and Wilkie were prominent in the midfield and Taggart was the club’s clear leading goalkicker.
A lot will fall on Matthew Round, Leigh Conway, Selby Lee-Steere and Kristian Ericson- all of whom are class players.
On paper, they will suffer a slide in 2013 but still have the cattle to be competitive against most sides. Depth will become a greater question mark as the season wares on.
