Preview:
With their senior side in the NEAFL competition, the Eagles struggled for consistency over four quarters in 2012, something they have not been accustomed to for a long time given their grip on the Premier Division competition.
Identified their need to add to their depth and have added former AFL players in Dragicevic, Stubbs, Kruger and Buchanan to their marquee list, which will counter the expected departure of Ryan Houlihan. While the quartet will not play Premier Division football, their acquisition should assist the development of their fringe players.
Their Premier Division side will look somewhat different considering bonafide players in Shephard, Moeller, Rogers and Okunbor have left for opportunities elsewhere.
It will be hard to gauge where the Eagles fall into ladder calculations but it probably won’t be much different to last season.
