Preview:

Blake Bray is a massive inclusion having been formerly on Carlton’s list.He along with coach, Neil Brunton, Amua Pirika and Matthew Edwins are the big signings for Campbelltown who want, and need, to climb off the bottom of the ladder. Edwins returns to the club from Sydney Hills where he impressive as a goal-kicking midfield/forward and will also captain the side. Cameron Gordon is another to return to the club after limited opportunities at the Eagles and will be depending upon in the ruck.

This is offset by the move of Alex Sneddon and Ben Wharton to the Eagles. Wharton is a gun junior with plenty of class and a ready-made body for senior football, while Sneddon was the Blues’ headline ruckmen for the last few seasons. Perhaps the biggest loss is Marcus Linsen (to Western Suburbs) who was a former club Best and Fairest and held the side together during tough times.

The club, all in all, have gained some class and Brunton is highly regarded. This should mean a slight jump up the ladder but they have a lot of ground to make up to the top clubs.
