Last week, Senior Coach Jon Haynes announced to the squad of players the coaching panel for 2013, with some new exciting talent coming on board in the coaching ranks.
Jon Hayres was pleased to announce the new appointments, with the three new additions bringing a wealth of football experience from interstate competitions.
Jared Shattock will take up a role as Senior Playing Assistant Coach. Jared joins us from Queensland, after recently relocating for work. Jared and his partner are adjusting to a new life in Sydney with the recent arrival of their first baby. Football wise, Jared was vice captain at the NEAFL club Labrador in 2012, following joining them in 2011. Prior to this, Jared was vice captain for Sacred Heart Old Collegians in the SAAFL competition, where they played off in two grand finals and he collected a number of personal awards. Jared also played all his junior football and started his senior football career with SANFL club Woodville West Torrens.
Dylan Ross will ruturn as a Senior Assistant, along with Ash Naylor who coached Division 1 team in 2012. Ryan Meldrum will also continue in a senior development role in season 2013, assisting with both the Premier and Division 1 players.
Phil Bourne, joins us as the Division 1 coach for season 2013. Phil's footbally background stems from playing football in South Australia. Playing junior football in Adelaide with Woodville-West Torrens in the SANFL, he progressed through the U17s, U19s and Reserves sides from 2000-2003 and was lucky enough to win a junior premiership. After leaving the Eagles in 2004, he played local senior footy with Flinders Park for 2 years, where he won the best and fairest and played at state representative level. This was followed by a year with SANFL club West Adelaide in 2006, where he represented them at League level. Phil is excited by the prospect of working on developing the Division 1 players with the goal of providing the players with every opportunity to play senior football.
Nick Adams is returing as coach of the Division 4 team, after doing a fantastic job in season 2012.
Jamie O'Dell will be at the helm again of the Under 18's. This year he is joined by John Goode as Assistant and Junior Development Coach. John has extensive experience of working with junior footballers, having recently coached the St Ives U16 team in 2012.
