True pro lends kids helping hand

Joey Didulica understands what it's like to learn the hard way.

The self-taught goalkeeper built an international career in an era when Geelong soccer was painfully under-resourced.

That's why he's giving back.

Didulica, who was part of Croatia's 2006 World Cup campaign as a second-choice goalkeeper and represented Ajax, Belgian side Germinal Beerschot, Austria Vienna and later AZ Alkmaar in a career spanning 12 years, was awarded the Victoria Champions League Volunteer of the Year for his work with the Greater Geelong Galaxy.
