Southern Power Women’s rising star, Alex Tegg, has been recently named in the AFL Female High Performance Academy Program.
“Junior” as she is affectionately known as in the club, is one of only twenty-two girls under the age of 16 nation-wide to be nominated in the Academy.
The program is focussed around fast-tracking development, and building a further understanding of the game.
The program includes a camp in Melbourne, run by former AFL coaches and players. Here, the members will learn about nutrition, kicking, fitness, and strength and conditioning.
Southern Power Vice-President, Lauren Hodgson was proud of Alex’s achievements.
“Alex has been rewarded for her hard work and love of the game,” Hodgson said.
To help Alex attend this program, the AFL is paying for all flights and accommodation required, showing great commitment to developing women’s AFL.
