CBL Moe v Warragul

Moe faced Warragul on Sunday and came away with a big win for the women and the men went down narrowly.

The women rebounded with a commanding demolition of an under strength Warragul to get back on track 77 to 34. Steph returned to finish with 27 and Danielle Davies had 23.

The men faced the second ranked team Warragul with a few outs and Ben Kerrigan didn't come up for Moe with a rolled ankle. Moe started initially well but Warragul got their running game going and took over late in the quarter to lead by 9 points at quarter time. Moe regrouped and in an even second quarter started to dominate inside and closed the gap to 5 at the half. Excellent teamwork saw Moe take the lead and then extend it, however Warragul with a late surge kept within distance for Moe to lead by 3 points at three quarter time. Warragul quickly regained their momentum and took the lead and regardless of what Moe tried Warragul hung on for a gutsy 7 point win 81-74. Cal Rees finished with 24.

Next game is at home Saturday night against Westernport which will be a big night for finals contention for both teams.
