IT'S been a fast ride to the top for Cecil Plains' Danielle Wall.
After just five years in the game, she's already playing for her state.
The 15-year-old has just been selected for the Queensland under-18 Aussie rules team to compete in Shepparton this May.
But despite being one of the best players in the country for her age, when she pulls on the Queensland guernsey in six months time, it will only be the third occasion where she has played representative football.
Late last year, the centre half-back travelled to Cairns with a combined Darling Downs, Gold Coast and Northern Rivers team for the state championships.
The combined team made it to the final, narrowly going down to the formidable Brisbane Flames.
The selectors at the carnival had their eye on Wall, who thought nothing of her position change in one of the final matches.
"I was at full-back... then I got moved," she said.
"I thought I got moved because I was versing a new team.
"But I was very excited when I found out I got selected for Queensland."
Wall first pulled on the boots at 11-years-old, intrigued by the game after watching her brother from the sidelines.
There was something about the native game that had her hooked.
"I did home school, so once a year everyone would get together and do a bunch of different sports and I used to play league," she said.
"But in league you have to stay in one line, in Aussie rules you can be wherever."
Danielle is one of five Darling Downs girls selected in the 2013 Under 18 Queensland team and Danielle and the other four Darling Downs girls will head to Burleigh on the Gold Coast to kick start the Queensland's charge for the National Championship.
