Campbelltown Australian Football Club have confirmed the signing of former Captain/Coach and two times Sydney AFL Premiership player, Neil Brunton (pictured) as the club’s Senior coach.
Neil, who previously coached Campbelltown to a Premier Division flag upon their return from the Canberra competition, has agreed to coach for season 2013 and is looking forward to working with and developing the young playing list at the Blues.
In a statement on the club’s website:
“He is also aware of the young talent coming through via the local junior clubs and will have a role to play in their development and growth into the best footballers they can be.”
The Campbelltown Committee regard Neil's return as the next step in the resurgence of the club following their improvement in season 2012 and will greatly improve the on field performance back to the Premier Division force the club has been in the past.”
Neil played 71 games for the Sydney Swans from 1991 to 1995 and then coached Campbelltown to a premiership in 1999 following his arrival at the club in 1997.
Neil was also Assistant Coach of the AFL Sydney Representative side last year in their loss to the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA).
