WOMENS DIVISION ONE
Balmain Dockers
2012 Senior Finish: Minor and Major Premiers
2013 Home & Away schedule: AHAAHHAHHAHAHHA
Draw Analysis: Balmain have dominated the Womens competition in recent times and will be backed to repeat their form in 2013. They open and finish the season with a Grand Final replay away to Sydney University. They are benefitted by three home games in four weeks after the June long weekend, and have two home games in the last three rounds.
Newtown Breakaways
2012 Senior Finish: 5th- 8 wins, 6 losses
2013 Home & Away schedule: HAHHAAAAAHAAAAH
Draw Analysis: Newtown have requested more away games, explaining the imbalance between home and away matches. They have to be on their mettle early on with an away trip to Balmain in Round 2, before home clashes against fellow finalists from last year in Sydney University and the improved Wollongong Saints. Five consecutive rounds away in the middle of the season are cushioned by the two-week break in June.
Sydney University
2012 Senior Finish: 2nd- 10 wins, 4 losses
2013 Home & Away schedule: HAAHHAHAAHAHAHH
Draw Analysis: Sydney University came home last year with wind in their sails to earn a berth in the Grand Final, eventually falling to Balmain. They will play the top four sides (other than themselves) in the opening four weeks. They play Balmain in the opening and final round, and will look forward to three of the final four matches being at home.
UNSW/ES Stingrays
2012 Senior Finish: 6th- 8 wins, 6 losses
2013 Home & Away schedule: AHAHAAHHHAAHHAH
Draw Analysis: UNSW/ES have a good chance to build in the opening two rounds before challenging games against Wollongong (away) and premiers, Balmain (home). They have three consecutive home games slammed in between consecutive away trips. Like Sydney University, three of their final four games are at home in a welcome finish.
Western Wolves
2012 Senior Finish: 4th- 9 wins, 5 losses
2013 Home & Away schedule: HAHAHHAAHHHAAHA
Draw Analysis: It is a draw with some challenges for the Wolves. They face Sydney University and Balmain in consecutive weeks on three occasions in 2013. They will be after a fast start with potential wins in the opening rounds between Wollongong and UNSW/ES. Three of their final four games are away.
Wollongong Saints
2012 Senior Finish: 3rd- 11 wins, 3 losses
2013 Home & Away schedule: AHHAAHHHAAHHHAA
Draw Analysis: Wollongong were the big improvers in 2012 and will eye a Grand Final appearance this season. They avoid Balmain in the opening four rounds so they can realistically set-up a winning start. They face Balmain and Sydney University in consecutive weeks on two occasions. They will make the trip up the highway in the final two weeks.
