NEW Toowoomba Tigers coach John Wilson expects little to change next season as the club chases a fourth-straight AFL Darling Downs flag.
The pressure will be on Wilson who has stepped up to replace three-time premiership-winning coach Andrew Farr.
Farr ushered in a new era of success for the Tigers, helping to break a 22-year premiership drought in just his second season at the helm.
But Wilson was confident the club would maintain that winning culture under a new coach.
"I've been around the club and around footy for long enough to know that success comes on the back of hard work," he said.
"We don't expect to change a lot. We've got a system in place that is working for us.
"It'll be pretty low key and a smooth transition given I have been around the club."
Wilson was Tigers president for the past three years and has been involved with the club in various on and off-field roles since 1996.
He said he was excited for the chance to take over as head coach.
"Coaching is something that I've always done," he said.
"The opportunity came up and I thought it was as good a time as any to step away from the president's role and back into coaching.
"I have done it before but I was probably not quite as experienced as I needed to be.
"I learnt a lot from Andrew over the last few years. I've done a bit of an apprenticeship with some clued-in people."
The Tigers have been in light training for the past few weeks but won't resume their full workload until January.
Wilson said the team was looking good so far but he stopped short of predicting another premiership.
"I wouldn't get too far ahead of ourselves. It's not even Christmas yet," he said.
"But when you take over senior footy, you do it to win premierships. We're not turning up to make up the numbers.
"Playing finals would be the bare minimum and we'll see how we go from there."
