Draw Analysis: On the surface, there appear to be no gremlins for the Lions with three of their first five games at home- one of which against a 2012 finalist in St George. The challenge comes in playing the Dragons, Balmain and Pennant Hills twice. The Lions face a tough fortnight playing Pennant Hills in Round 6 before backing up the next week against Balmain.

Pre-Season Preparations: The Lions commenced their pre-season on Tuesday 4 December, and ran sessions once weekly leading into the Christmas break.
