Papua New Guinea Women secure second victory

Papua New Guinea Women celebrated their second win in this tournament. In Wednesday’s last OPC and World League match PNG defeated Vanuatu 3-0. Vanuatu stays last in the pool and is still waiting for its first points in this competition.

Julienne Naron, Shirly Kangol and team captain Terry Kiapin scored in the first half to secure PNG’s victory. Vanuatu was close to scoring at the beginning of the second half but its counter-attack did not succeed. Afterwards Vanuatu’s goalkeeper Lisbeth Sanel was called into action several times but she kept a clean sheet in the last 35 minutes of the match.
