CBL Westernport v Moe

Moe travelled to take on teams above them in both competitions. The Women in a great team effort overpowered Westernport for an excellent win. Unfortunately, the Men struggled against the size of Westernport and were comprehensively beaten.

Due to the schedule Moe started the game outside the four and Westernport were second. With a great team effort and great shooting by Carly Mullen-Bianconi and Steph Walker scoring 25 and 33 respectively Moe won convincingly 78 to 63 in very hot and tiring conditions.

The Men were lacking Cal Rees and Steve Bonnaci, which further hurt the team considering Westernport's size. Moe started well which was a plus but Westernport pulled away late in the first quarter for an 8 point lead. Westernport outscored Moe in each of the following quarters for an impressive 30 point win. Ben Kerrigan was injured and Moe finished the game with the younger players coming of the bench. Paddy Maye played his first game for the season.
