The Southern Football League is pleased to announce Peter Mair as the new Director of Umpiring.
Having achieved notable success as a leader in both the corporate and sporting world, Peter has umpired all disciplines (field, boundary and goal) and brings a wealth of umpiring experience to the role, having been involved in umpiring for over 30 years, including personally umpiring in 12 SFL Grand Finals. Peter has also previously been the Director of Umpiring in the Alberton Football League.
For the past four years, Peter has been the SFL Field Umpires Coach, working closely with former Director of Umpiring Scott Van Noordennen.
SFL CEO David Cannizzo said Peter would bring a wealth of football and management experience to the SFL Umpiring Department.
“We’re excited to have Peter Mair as Director of Umpiring. Scott Van Noordennen has done an outstanding job over the past five years in developing the umpiring group into what it is today and Peter has been a key player in this growth, working closely with Scott over this time,” he said.
“Peter brings with him a vast amount of experience from his corporate position as well as from his various umpiring roles and will continue to develop what has become a terrific, vibrant umpiring group.”
