The Gippsland Soccer League in conjunction with Football Federation Victoria, are delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Cassar into the role of Zone Development Officer for the Gippsland Region. Mark has been a passionate supporter of football in Gippsland for many years, starting as a player before coaching at local club level and progressing to the Gippsland Falcons Youth team in the old National Soccer League. Mark was also an assistant to the Senior team, learning from the legendary Frank Arok and working with the development and recruitment of current Socceroos Archie Thompson, Mathew Spiranovic and Eugene Galekovic as well as the Captain of the Central Coast Mariners, Malta representative and Morwell Boy, John Hutchinson.

Mark has enjoyed involvement with the Gippsland Sports Academy, various roles with the Gippsland Soccer League and also established his own football academy, MC Football where he focuses on junior player development.

In his role with the GSL and FFV, Mark will be focusing on increasing overall participation within the sport (especially with Women and Girls), coordinating and delivering coaching and refereeing courses as well as working with local clubs and schools.

The Gippsland Soccer League is delighted with this appointment and very excited about the contribution that Mark will make to the further development of football in Gippsland.
