Junior Lakers Off to Basketball Jamboree
Four Junior Lakers basketballers have been accepted to participate in the twelfth Great Murray River Jamboree being conducted in Albury NSW starting on Saturday November 24th and concluding on Tuesday November 27th. They are Olivia Patzel, Bella Stratford, Mitchell Hunter and Mitchell Harris.
Under 13 junior basketballers from country Australia and New Zealand will be in Albury for four days of basketball fun. The Lauren Jackson Sports Centre is the venue for the activities.
The concept of the basketball Jamboree was first developed in Europe many years ago bringing together Under 13 boys and girls from regions for a week long camp during which the participants not only play basketball but are involved in a full range of social activities for coaches, referees and parents.
The Great Murray River Jamboree includes basketballers from throughout Australia and New Zealand and follows this original concept. At the end of the Jamboree everyone thoroughly enjoy the experience, make lasting friendships and all return home winners.
