Western Region Junior Interleague Carnival
Sunday, 29th May 2012, Island Park, Casterton
Once again in 2012 the WDFNL entered both an U14 and U16 Team in the South West Junior Football Interleague competition. This year the teams made the trip to Casterton, with the Casterton Junior Football League putting on a fantastic day.
Unfortunately both teams did not make the final, with the Under 16 team only missing out on the Grand Final by a small percentage. All players gained invaluable experience at this level of competition and participated with enthusiasm and represented the League with pride.
A big thank you must go to our wonderful dedicated coaches, U14s Greg Kew and Assistant Peter Wood, U16s Klint Wagstaff and Assistant Michael Reid. Thank you for all the time and effort that you gave in getting both these teams ready for the carnival.
WDFNL best players for the carnival were awarded to: U14, Taylor Johnstone (All) and U16, Brody Misfud (DU). Participating in this carnival is only made possible through the wonderful generous sponsorship of the Junior Football Competition and Interleague Teams made available by Jack and Jess Kelly of J & J Kelly Stock Agency. They have been a valued sponsor for a number of years and we thank them very much for their generosity.
