The Saints afc are pleased to announce the re-appointment of James Van Beek as their senior coach for season 2013.
James will be looking to build on a successful 2012 season which saw the Seniors (Division Three) make the Preliminary final and the Reserves also tasting finals action.
James has been involved at a senior level as an umpire (56 AFL/VFL games and additionally umpiring at The Oval in London for the AFL International Cup Series) as well as being the fitness coach and runner for Sandringham in the VFL competition during their premiership in 2001 and finals appearances in 2000 and 2002.
The reserve coaching appointment will be finalised during the pre-season along with the broader leadership group.
The Under 18s, who had their first season in 2012, will be coached by Steve Sadler who has been a senior Saints player for a couple of years and was the runner for the 18s last year.
Preseason for all players commences Tuesday 20 November at Pioneers Park at 6.30pm and will continue each Tuesday and Friday through to Christmas. New players are more than welcome.
Finally, the club wishes to acknowledge the great work performed by the retiring coaches from 2012; Fraser Neill (Seniors), Jason King and Rich Anderson (Reserves) and Macleay Lewis and Lliam Mountney (18s) who will all remain with the Saints, contributing to the club both on and off the field.
