We ran three 100m. Trials on the early morning of July 3rd. All were quite close but the winner of two out of three was TIM NATUA. It was intended that he should have his passport done and visa applied for by the end of last week. Unfortunately people here do not prioritise very well and so we lost that week and then this week is the annual Independence holiday. Nevertheless we are still hoping to get his PROC (Chinese) visa processed in Sydney and returned by August 4th. He is due to fly on Aug. 6th. to join the Oceania WJC group in Brisbane. Then they fly out on Aug. 9th. to attend a pre-competition camp in Beijing. They are due to compete Aug. 15 - 20 and leave Beijing on Aug. 21. He is due back in Tarawa Aug. 26.
Now we pray that that all works out !
UP-DATE JULY 19.
God (and Air Pacific) willing, tomorrow morning the package containing the passport, visa application, etc. will be on its way to Sydney, in the safe hands of a "post-lady" !!
The Kiribati authorities were very helpful in processing Tim's new passport. We hope the Chinese authorities are just the same !
