The Moe men won a tight game in Traralgon 80 -72 this afternoon. Moe started extremely well against a young Traralgon side and led 23-12 at quarter time. The offence was working exceptionally well and the defence was tight. The second quarter saw the inevitable Traralgon comeback which was capably handled as the bench got into the game. Moe led by 7 at half time 43-36. Traralgon tightened up their defence in the third quarter and slowly closed the gap. They restricted Moe to just 12 points and briefly took the lead late in the quarter until Moe finished the quarter with a single point lead. The last quarter saw the lead see saw between the teams until Moe established a 2 point lead. Moe could not shake Traralgon and with the lead at 2 with 2 minutes to go it was anybody's game. Some inopportune fouls by Traralgon and some excellent foul shooting under pressure saw Moe close the game out for a 8 point win.

Ben Morrow was good in his first game for the season, as was Simon Vannapraseuth with his excellent foul shooting late in the game. Nick Sedley dominated as usual with 28 points and Steve Bonacci and Brendan Dawson controlled the boards. Ben Kerrigan was his usual speedy self offloading assist and layups.

That completes a 3-0 start and places Moe in a good position for the rest of the season. Next up is a date with last year's premiers Churchill on Sunday followed by the last year's runners-up Warragul the following week.
