Arguably the best team to represent the Red and Black heads north this weekend to defend their NPC title in Auckland. Coach Harry Peterson reckons this is a better team than last year's, which went through the championship undefeated. There is a good blend of youth and experience, to be sure and there can be no doubting the team's committment. They will be joined in Auckland by Melbourne based players, Justin Clark, Andrew Howison, Aaron Harris and Steven Howard. It's great to see some new blood coming through with names like Callum McKenzie, Josh Roble-McGill and Jake Topliss sure to impress. The coach and manager, Stephen Langridge (Langez) have this machine purring beautifully. It's great to see seasoned campaigners like captain Todd Andrews, Wayne Sullivan, Chris Morel and James Stevenson stepping up again and late inclusion Rick Van Olphen is sure to provide planty of fireworks.
It wouldn't be any surpise to see Canterbury bring home the trophy for the third year in-a-row. Go Cobras!
