The Northern Blues 2012 Best & Fairest Awards Night has highlighted the strength of the Club’s alignment with their TAC Cup region the Northern Knights.
Adam Marcon was the lucky recipient of the 2012 Laurie Hill Trophy on 103 votes, only five votes in front of best friend Kane Lambert and 10 clear of Carlton player David Ellard.
The top two vote getters for the Northern Blues came through the Knights TAC Cup program, with a total of five past Knights players placing in the top 10.
Marcon has had a stellar year having been part of AFL Victoria’s VFL Academy, was selected in the VFL State Team, was named in the VFL Team of the Year as well as being honoured as the inaugural Ford VFL Coaches Player of the Year.
The Blues Awards Night also saw Daniel Toman emerge as a clear leader in the Development Team Best & Fairest, winning by 28 votes . Like the seniors, the Development side boasted an array of talented past Northern Knights players with four placing in the top 10.
