The Year That Was- Sydney Hills Eagles
2012: Seventh- 5 wins, 13 losses
Highest Polling Player at Phelan Medal: Dominic Killworth (Equal 12th- 9 votes)
Positives: It was always going to be tough for the Eagles to make it four premierships in a row given their promotion to the NEAFL. They were able to blood a number of impressive juniors graduating from their Under 18 program- something that will improve their depth going forward. Look to have a couple of players with upside in Dominic Killworth and Etiosa Okunbur.
Negatives: Obviously it was the most games the Eagles have lost in Premier Division for a number of years. They simply could not compete with the top few teams and were unable to lockdown for a long period of time.
Areas for improvement: The Eagles are on the right path with developing their juniors through the senior grade. They are a smart club with the resources to challenge for the finals in 2013. A couple of experienced heads who are challenging for NEAFL spots will help ensure the side is more competitive next season.
Overall Grade: C
