Sydney University have claimed the first premiership on offer in Division Five with a thrilling five-point win over UTS.
There was little between the two sides all day, with the two sides equal at half-time, and UTS leading by three points at three-quarter time.
Gordon Willis with five goals was the difference and a deserved winner of the Best on Ground medal. Michael Abbey and Jarrad Carraso were also tireless contributors for the winning Students.
UTS, led by Nicholas McInerney and Daniel Cutlack, proved they were a worthy opponent and could have sealed the match in the dying moments as the ball went from end to end.
Ryan Armstrong was the leading goalkicker for the Bats with three goals.
