Below is a brief detailing of the exciting AFL 9s competition, being played at Moorabbin Oval over this summer...
The Southern Football League, in conjunction with the AFL and Social Sport, is bringing you AFL 9s!
Commencing in October, several teams have already registered for the competition that will take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, under a twilight sun and on a perfect AFL-quality Moorabbin Oval deck!
For those unfamiliar with the 9s concept, AFL 9s is 9-a-side non-contact football.
The venue will be set up in such a way that multiple matches can be played simultaneously.
9s is a fast game that builds skill, and is an ideal way to fine-tune a player’s fitness and ball-handling ability before season 2013 gets under way.
9s is also a fun competition where all are welcome - mixed teams, men's teams, teams with non-SFL players – it’s really up to you!
To register your interest in the game, whether you have a team, are on your own, or are looking to kick a footy for the first time, please visit www.playafl9s.com.au, or alternatively contact Matt at the SFL at matt.duck@sfl.com.au.
