Former UNSW/ES Bulldog, Khan Haretuku has been named in the VFL Team of the Year at Centre Half-Forward after a dominant season for Frankston.
The 22 year-old, born in New Zealand, played with the Eastern Suburbs club in 2007 and 2008 and was drafted to St Kilda as a NSW Rookie.
After playing with Casey Scorpions (two games in the Seniors and fourteen in the Reserves) in 2008, Haretuku crossed to Frankston in 2010.
This season has been highly successful for Haretuku. He has played eighteen matches in Frankston’s Senior side and kicked thirty goals, including a four-goal haul at Simonds Stadium. He also kicked four goals representing the VFL this year.
Frankston coach, Simon Goosey is full of praise for the youngster, labelling him as a ready-made AFL recruit with “the build and the ability to make it.”
Haretuku can take inspiration from ex-Frankston players, Michael Hibberd and Michael Baguley, who have both played senior games for Essendon in the AFL this year.
